Ages 3-8. Stretch your body with kid-friendly yoga poses, move to music, listen to stories, and wind down with calming activities. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a towel or yoga mat if you’d like.

All ages. It’s a great day to bring your family to the library! Enjoy a library scavenger hunt, coloring & crafts, and other activities. Stock up on books and more while you’re here. 

For kids in kindergarten through third grade.

Ages 8-16. Learn the basics of chess from our teen volunteers, led by chess expert Gavin. Learn a new strategy each month, get practice playing, and level up your skills, from beginner Pawn to advanced King.

Grades K-12. Need some help with your homework, to practice your reading skills, or just a place to study? Volunteers from MSU and local high schools will be at the library on Mondays after school to provide basic homework help.

Ages 8-18. Visit us at the library after school for game time. We’ll have video games and board games on hand to play. No registration necessary and kids can drop in any time from 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.  

DTDL partners with the Greater Lansing Food Bank to offer Grab and Go Meal Kits. Kits include a variety of food and anyone under 18 is eligible with no registration. Pick up a meal kit in the library lobby from 5-6:30 pm. 

Scott Reintgen, author of The Last Dragon on Mars, will be joining us via Zoom for a book chat and Q&A! Hear the story behind the book, learn what it’s like to be an author, and ask questions.

Ages 13-15. This winter we’re reading books 4-6 in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan, one each month, ending with a Percy Jackson celebration at our final club in April. February’s book is The Last Olympian.

This three-part program led by MSU Nurse Practitioner students offers practical tips for heart health, focusing on healthy eating, physical activity, and stress management.

Registration required. This is a two-part series. Register one time and you'll be enrolled in both sessions.

Ages 10-18. Level up your coloring game with coloring trends seen on TikTok! Alcohol-based markers, gel pens and colored pencils will be available to use, but feel free to bring your own supplies if you would like!
