Ages 8-11 and their caregivers. Healthy Habits, Happy Kids is a two-part interactive wellness program adapted from Michigan State University Extension’s evidence-based “Jump into Foods and Fitness” (JIFF) curriculum that aims to empower children with lifelong healthy lifestyle practices in an enjoyable and developmentally appropriate way. Through engaging presentations and fun, hands-on activities, participants learn the importance of eating a variety of fruits and vegetables, staying active each day, and supporting their mental well-being. Presented by students from MSU's College of Nursing Nurse Practitioner Program.
Session Two - Physical Activity & Mental Wellbeing: Session Two teaches children how daily physical activity supports both physical health and emotional well-being, emphasizing the goal of at least 60 minutes of movement each day. Through fun indoor activity stations and simple coping strategies like mindful breathing, children learn how exercise positively affects mood and mental wellness.
