Last year, Greg introduced us to the differences between birding and birdwatching. This year, he's back to dive deeper into the exciting world of birding!

Learn about:

  • How Birdwatching can reduce stress and improve your health
  • Binocular selection
  • Field guides
  • Learning Bird Songs
  • Birding Apps
  • How eBird can help you find birds
  • Places to go birding in our area
  • Fieldcraft – working through a bird identification
  • Personal stories from the field while birding
  • A photographic deep dive into the interesting behavior of one or two bird species

Greg Bodker has been a serious birder since 2006, combining his interest in birds, nature, and photography as often as possible. Greg has led birding trips for Michigan Audubon and was on its Board of Directors for three years.

Greg has birded in all of Michigan’s 83 counties and in most of North America.  He is excited to report he saw his 361st bird species in Michigan in October 2024, a Scissor-tailed Flycatcher in Mason County, Michigan.

Greg now enjoys delivering birding and nature education presentations to audiences at Libraries, Garden Clubs and Audubon Chapters throughout Michigan.  He has presented his programs from the Soo to along the Ohio Border, and from the shores of Lake Michigan to Lake Huron.
